We are a boutique winery, specializing in a premium range of classic wines. Our 'single vineyard' philosophy means that each vintage is a true expression of seasonal vagaries; the distinctive varietal character of each wine; and our location, at the foothills of the Darling Scarp, near Harvey, in the Geographe wine region.
The vines are grown in light, alluvial, loam soils, overlying deeper laterite gravel. Warm to hot summers, which are moderated by cooling sea breezes, produce wines of great depth, flavour and colour. Moojelup Farm was established by John Thompson Logue, in the 1880s, and is one of the earliest farming properties in the area. It has also produced fine beef cattle, and sheep and was also a major dairy. Owners Simon and Stephanie Holthouse developed the winery in the late 1990s with its first vintage in 2000. |
Traditional methods are used in production, which include a hand picked, barrel fermented Semillon. Our Reds are handmade on site, using open fermentation and basket pressing, producing full bodied wines of distinctive varietal style, fruit intensity and regional character. |
